Job Responsibilities
- Perform X-rays and other imaging scans using ultrasound, computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging technology as per orders issued by clinicians
- Prepare patients for their imaging studies according to whatever methods are ordered, performing scans at the time of the order or giving patients instructions to return for more advanced procedures
- Consult with ordering physicians regarding unique scan requirements to help improve diagnostic accuracy
- Ensure that all scans are stored within imaging software programs as well as in patient electronic medical records, and convey all scans to radiologist as well as ordering physicians for interpretation
- Answer all questions that patients may have regarding treatment technologies and the safety of radiological studies
- Assist with the interpretation of scans by describing testing environment and conditions as well as a patient’s actions when asked by providers
- Record notes regarding imaging equipment performance, detailing any maintenance and supply issues, to be shared with department management
- Coordinate with department administrative personnel to order new supplies and equipment components when needed, and assist vendor representatives with the installation of new parts

- Bachelor’s degree in radiological science or completion of certified radiology technician program
- Current CT, MRI or US technician license from state accrediting board (or willingness to certify within six months of hire)
- Previous patient care experience
